VLM EXTENDED SCALED SOLAR ISOCHRONES

readme file

last modification: 28 feb 2014

The tar archive files in these section contain the BaSTI scaled-solar isochrones for both "canonical" and "non-canonical" case, extended to the regime of very low-mass (VLM) stars. The stellar models for VLM stars are from Cassisi, S., Castellani, V., Ciarcelluti, P., Piotto, G., Zoccali, M. 2000, MNRAS, 315, 679.

To ensure a smooth transition from the low-mass models in BaSTI and these VLM calculations, we have computed additional models for masses at the transition between the two regimes, by using the same input physics of the BaSTI database, but the outer boundary conditions adopted by Cassisi et al. (2000).

These extended isochrones provides magnitudes in the following systems (we quote also the source of the adopted bolometric corrections):

1) Johnson-Cousins (Hauschildt, P.H. et al. 1999, ApJ, 512, 377 for Teff<10000K + Castelli, F., & Kurucz, R.L. (2003), IAU Symp. 210, A20 for larger effective temperatures;

2) Sloan (Hauschildt et al. 1999, ApJ, 512, 377 for Teff<10000K + Castelli & Kurucz (2003), IAU Symp. 210, A20 for larger effective temperatures;

3) Stroemgren (Vandenberg, D.A., & Clem, J.L. 2003, AJ, 126, 778)

Our best regards!!!
